Film Noir Selfie - StyleIT Group G+ ~ Top 5 Winner~

Downtown Old Town Covina, CA. I used no flash. The only lighting used were street lights. I used my cell phone as a remote and walked forward till I saw the light on that bag. One of the most fun projects I'll probably ever do.

A favorite shot not submitted for the project. A parked car was removed with Photoshop. The story is about a heist - waiting for the getaway car. Lighting provided by the street light above - long exposure - with a remote.

StyleIt samples ~ Road to series~

Walnut, CA - Hills above Amar Rd. The storyline to make the cinemagraph was the Road Home - idea taken from the movie Road to Perdition ending. Music from the movie was to be played while viewing the cinemagraph.

This shot was chosen, a short video clip made and then the cinemagraph was completed in Photoshop cc using the video editor.

I had the white foam board laid out on the table after grabbing the characters I wanted to use. What is not pictured is another large board with the snowy fabric pinned to it so the whole scene was white- ish.

Photo test 1. It started with devising a possible holiday dance. I played around posing the characters several ways.

I took dozens of photos in different light. I toyed around (ha) with a possible sunset situation and almost moved everything outside. I sort of loved the silhouettes here.

Then it occurred to me while dancing they fell in love (Sorry Buzz!) So a wedding photo was born. ( I made a veil and found a bouquet for Dino)

I ended up using one with a warmer white balance and added some glow and sparkle which added to the dreaminess and blur needed to mimic some tilt-shift. (part of our photo challenge) :)
